Why I Wrote My Love Story

When I first wrote our love story, I was a young mother and small business owner with a bit too much on my plate. Life was full, but I noticed my thoughts drifting in a direction I didn’t like. I was feeling stressed and slipping into a pattern of negativity. I knew I needed to be more intentional about where I let my mind go.

Gratitude journals were popular at the time, so I started by writing a list of all the reasons I loved my husband. It was a helpful exercise—one that made me appreciate him—but I found myself wishing for something more.

February was approaching, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I decided to dig deeper and create a heartfelt gift for my husband. That’s when I began writing the story of how we met.

Each day, I added a little more to our story—and along the way, I began to notice a quiet shift taking place. Going through memorabilia, pondering events, and writing the memories of how we met, touched my heart in a way that I didn't expect. I felt a deeper love for my husband emerge. It was like the spark of new love - and so much better.

Since then, we’ve revisited our story many times. Each time brings laughter, sweet memories, and renewed affection. I’m often reminded of just how grateful I am for the man I married. It still surprises me how powerful those memories can be. It's kind of like magic.

That’s what led me to share this experience. If writing our story could bring so much clarity, warmth, and connection into our lives, perhaps it can do the same for you. My hope is that you’ll feel encouraged to begin writing your own love story—and uncover the beautiful moments just waiting to be remembered.

Cheering you on, one love story at a time,

Tami Potter recently celebrated 39 years of marriage with her husband, Kevin—and yes, they still like each other! Together, they’ve raised three amazing kids (all grown now) and are happily soaking up their favorite new role: grandparents to a delightful granddaughter who already has them both wrapped around her little finger.

Years ago, Tami wrote their love story as a gift to Kevin—and it turns out, it was the gift that keeps on giving. They still read it, laugh at the old memories, and feel more connected every time they revisit those early days.

These days, Tami and Kevin continue to team up through Mosaic Moments, helping others preserve their own stories—one memory-filled page at a time. Whether it’s scrapbook layouts or love story chapters, they find so much joy in helping couples rediscover what brought them together and grow even closer through the power of storytelling. ❤️
